There are production processes in the industry which must run in real time. If further production steps depend on one process, data must be transmitted within a defined period of time. A real-time protocol such as EtherCAT, ProfiNet or VARAN is suitable depending on the requirements or the technology already being used. ADDI-DATA offers real-time Ethernet systems of the x-ARTS series for EtherCAT and ProfiNet, as well as for VARAN. With the PN-ARTS for ProfiNet, a PLC for example can be expanded in an optimal manner. The advantage of the x-ARTS is that they can filter data and thus transmit only relevant data. This in turn relieves the load on the connected control units.
Realtime with standard Ethernet
Data can also be transferred in real time with the standard Ethernet protocol. ADDI-DATA’s MSX-Box, for example, enables different signal data to be transferred: digital, analog, counter, position, etc. The MSX-Box is a compact system that can be used instead of an IPC and which is based on standard technology such as PCI or CompactPCI backplane. With the integrated interface to CAN or Profibus subscribers, the MSX-Box can also easily forward data from these buses via Ethernet. In the other direction, commands can be transmitted via the MSX-Box to CAN or Profibus devices.
