Reading measurement data and adapting the configuration wirelessly
Rheinmuenster, 18th december 2015 – With the Wi-Fi Ethernet multifunction system MSX-WL-3121-6-4 it is possible, depending on access authorisation, to read out measurement data and adapt the configuration of an application through mobile devices (tablet, smartphone, etc.). The system has 6 analog diff./SE inputs (voltage or current inputs), 24-bit; 4 analog outputs (voltage or current outputs), 16-bit, and 32 digital I/O, 24 V. For reliable signal acquisition and output in the field, the system is equipped with a robust metal housing and numerous protective circuits. The ARM®9 32-bit processor allows the calculation of the acquired values. For data storage, a 64 MB SDRAM memory is included.
Each analog input channel has its own A/D converter. The acquisition modes auto refresh mode, sequence mode and cycle mode can be selected. Thanks to the Ethernet interface, the basic settings of the system can be made from the workplace through the company network. User profiles can be created according to the function of the employee in the production department. This has 2 advantages: First, the user only has access to authorised measurement data, second, the profile can be configured in such a way that the user does not see irrelevant data that could distract him. With a mobile device (tablet, smartphone, etc.) and the appropriate app for Android, the user can read measurement data and adapt settings by a mouse click in order to correct errors or deviations from tolerance values immediately.
The Wi-Fi Ethernet systems of the MSX-WL series can be combined with the Ethernet systems of the MSX-E series. Power supply, trigger and Ethernet lines can be looped through daisy chaining.
